Smallville star Kristin Kreuk has been cast to appear as Chun-Li in the upcoming "Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li". Capcom of Japan released the above photo today from the in-production Street Fighter movie, giving us what appears to be our first, heavily artifacted glimpse of Kristin Kreuk as Chun-Li. The movie, set to begin filming in Thailand as well as Hong Kong and Vancouver, focuses on Chun-Li and her "journey for justice". Sure, she doesn’t have hair buns or a blue miniskirt and certainly isn’t displaying huge, meaty thighs and doesn't really resembles Chun-Li that much even though she is half asian, but I'm sOO curious on how this movie will turn out. i DEF wanna see!
Ziyi Zhang [of House of flying daggers, Crounching tiger hidden dragon, & other chinese action movies] would of seem suitable for the role, but I alwayz see her in

EVRY chinese movie~ seeing her all da time is getting old. Maybe it's Kristin Kreuk time to shine to show everyone how she can be a star in an action movie too; breaking away from that innocent image.
Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li is currently in the making, directed by ex-cinematographer Andrzej Bartkowiak, of Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds, Cradle 2 the Grave, and Doom. The script for this was penned by up-and-coming screenwriter Justin Marks, who also penned screenplays for Masters of the Universe and Voltron. Hong Kong fight choreographer Dion Lam, who previously worked on The Matrix Trilogy, Spider-Man 2, and all of Bartkowiak's previous films, is handling the fight sequences. 20th Century Fox will be the studio distributing the film, currently has Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li set to arrive in theaters on February 27th, 2009.
